01 Alarm Box – The door on this Harrington-Seaburg alarm box reads, "F.D.N.Y., in case of fire, break glass, pull handle down". It has a 7" x 1½" brass tag #3-1393-1, a hammer and a Maltese cross shaped key. The back of the door has a spare glass holder, and a catch for the broken glass. There is an eagle in the peak of the roof. The box is empty. It has a very nice paint job, with gold colored letters. $460

02 Bed Key – Also known as a bed wrench. This essential tool is the standard type carried by firemen of the 18th & 19th centuries. $160

03 Book – 1889 original signed copy of History of the Boston Fire Department by A.W. Brayley. The book is in very good condition, binding intact, slight staining and very minor tears. $140

04 Book – This Salem, Mass fire department hand written record book covers 1829 through 1836. It lists Engine, Sail, Hook & Ladder, and Hose Companies, the member’s names, and details like when they were admitted and when they were discharged. It also gives the name & location of each apparatus. $290

05 Helmet – Black leather high eagle helmet with red Ladder 5 front from New York City, fireman ID number 3628. The helmet is missing the liner but otherwise it is intact. It has not been restored and is in original condition. $1250

06 Pressure Dome – Made of copper with a brass flange at the bottom, this pressure dome is shaped like a light bulb. It has a 55Ό" circumference, and a 17½" diameter. It is 31" tall. The circular flange is 7½" in diameter and has 8 bolt holes. It could be a steam engine dome or possibly a hand engine dome, but its origin is unknown. PASS

07 Alarm Box – This half glass sector 4 Gamewell alarm box has a slanted fist in the peek of the roof, and the tag #17 on the door. The round inner sending mechanism has embossed letters that read, "Pull lever way down, let go". The trap lock and key are missing. $250

08 Helmet – This black leather Cairns high lion helmet has a black front with 2 red cut outs. Both cut outs have white leather letters. The top cut out reads, "A.P. & P. Co.", and the bottom cut out reads, "F.D.". A 21/8" tall white leather number 26 is sewn on in the middle between the 2 red cut outs. The hanging ring on the back brim is signed, "Cairns". The inside has a brass tag, along with a paper label that reads, "Reinforced Service Hat, patented July 23rd, 1902". It has a felt liner and it is in very good condition. $900

09 Gong – This Gamewell oak case 7-ball top house gong has a 15" diameter bell. It is 36" tall x 19" wide. It has an arched brass tag on the door just under the beveled glass that reads, "The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Co. New York". It is very clean and it appears to be complete. It has Jan. 6, 1880 and June 7, 1881 patent dates. $4200

10 Gong – This Gamewell oak case 7-ball top house gong has a 15" diameter bell. It is 36" tall x 19" wide. It has an arched brass tag on the door just under the beveled glass that reads, "The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Co. New York". It is very clean and it appears to be complete. It has April 14, 1868, Oct 10, 1871, Jan 6, 1880, and June 7, 1881 patent dates. $4300

12 Register – This very hard to find Star Register has a brass tag that reads, "Made by Star Electric Company, Binghamton, N.Y., U.S.A." It is mounted on a black marble base with an O.G. edge. The base is 17" long x 8Ύ" deep. The register bares the patent dates Nov. 29, 1898, Jan 3, 1898, and May 5, 1903. It is in a glass case that measures 14Ύ" long x 6½" deep x 10½" tall. There is a key hole and a slotted hole for the tape. There is a brass removable tray with a matching O.G. edge to catch the circular punches. $350

13 Alarm Box – This hard to find Northern Electric Excelsior alarm box has a straight fist. It has a 5" wide x 6Ό" tall keg guard, the roof of which is missing. There is no tag and never was, as is often the case with Northern Electric. $200

14 Transmitter – This Gamewell oak case manual transmitter is 32½" tall x 19½" wide x 8" deep. It has a brass tag that reads, "The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Co. New York". It has 49 brass code wheels and the glass is beveled. There is a small brass door bell to the left of the tag. $2300

15 Helmet – This black leather Anderson & Jones high eagle helmet has a black front with 2 red cut outs, both cut outs have white leather letters. The top cut out reads, "Bellerose", and the bottom cut out reads, "F.D.". A 2½" tall white leather number 1 is sewn on in the middle between the 2 red cut outs. The inside has a paper label that is signed, "Anderson & Jones 184 Grand St. N.Y.". It is also signed on the bottom of the back rim, but the address is 199 Grand St. N.Y. The liner is worn, and the brass eagle is signed, "Anderson & Jones". $400

16 Globe – This hard to find green glass police globe is 20" tall and 13" in diameter. 2" tall letters that spell police are etched on each side. It was probably used with an early gas lamp. $875

17 Alarm Box – The Gamewell Excelsior alarm box has a Smith key guard and tag #34 with a matching code wheel. The decals on the sides suggest it was in service long after its time. $280

18 Water Pitcher – This 21½" tall silver plated water pitcher with 2 cups is signed "Presented to Harry S. Colby by Engine Company Constitution No. 2 New Boston, NH 1900". It has elaborately engraved decoration and also raised floral design. $850

19 Helmet – Leather helmet with leather front that reads, "172 MFD" It is not known where this helmet is from. Has standard finial, canvas liner, no maker’s tag. Paint on underside is bubbled from heat. Brim design suggests the manufacturer to be Shelton & Cheever. $120

20 Pedestal – This Buffalo, N.Y. pedestal stood on the corner at 326 Starin Ave. It is 6’ 8½" tall, and it has 2 access panels that are signed, "B.F.D." It comes with a weight driven Gamewell alarm box that has a Cole key guard. It has bras tag #927 with a matching code wheel, and is topped with an Acorn finial. $1500

21 Alarm Box – This hard to find Gamewell Tooker alarm box has a slanted fist, and brass tag #21 with a matching code wheel. The bell mechanism on the inside of the door is in working order. The door reads, "Fire Alarm Telegraph Station, turn handle to the right, open door, pull hook". It is signed, "The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Co. N.Y." $675

23 Builders Plate – This Amoskeag steam engine builders plate is 8Ό" wide x 6½" tall. It reads, "No. 443, built by the Amoskeag Manufg Co., Manchester, N.H." It was on the "Bay View #3" of Gloucester, Mass, which was delivered in July of 1873. $2000

25 Print – This nicely framed and matted 1858 Currier & Ives medium folio print titled, "Facing the Enemy" from the American Fireman Series depicts a firefighter holding a nozzle while standing on a pile of burning rubble. The depiction measures 13Ό" wide x 17" tall. There is a very small tear on the right hand edge. PASS

26 Register – This Northern Electrical Register has a 4½" x 1½" brass tag that reads, "Northern Electrical Company Limited, Canadian Manufacturing and Distributing, for the Gamewell Company Newton Mass., U.S.A." The register and a take up reel are in a glass case with brass trim, which is 35" long x 11" tall x 9½" deep. The case has a front door that flips up, and it comes with a key. $375

27 Trumpet – This 18" tall silver plated trumpet has an oval brass plate that reads, "1st Assistant, Cascade No. 2". It has dolphin head tassel holders and it is engraved with fleur-de-lis type designs. The 8Ύ" diameter bell is decorated with garlands and raised pie crust edging. It includes a yellow cord with tassels, and it has a very small dent. $900

28 Recall Bell – The Gamewell recall bell is 19½" tall and 11" in diameter. It has a hanging hook and a red light on the bottom. $150

29 Spot Light – This Gray & Davis brass spot light comes with an American LaFrance dash mount. The 10" diameter lens in the 13" diameter round light is cracked. $225

30 Postcards – A total of 76 postcards, most from the 1 penny era. A mixture of fires, fire stations, fire boats, horse drawn and early motorized apparatus, plus 4 dance cards, all are in a 3 ring notebook. $245

31 Helmet – Cairns leather New Yorker helmet from Boston Ladder Company 26. Helmet has a white officer’s front. Does not have Boston Finial and there is a hole on the rear brim. Helmet is complete with liner. $235

32 Bell – This 12" diameter apparatus bell is mounted on a round oak board. The brass bracket is not plated. Its original mounting bracket probably went between the top of the bell and the round finial. It was in service until 1955 in Buffalo, N.Y. $675

33 Water Main – This 5Ό" thick cross section of a wooden water main has a brass plate that reads, "Jamaica Pond Aqueduct – 1796, found during the construction of the Mass Turnpike – 1964, Harrison Ave. Boston". The O.D. is approximately 14" and I.D. is 5". $270

34 Post Top Lamp – 56" tall post top lamp. Top piece has 4 red glass panels and 4 smaller cut red glass panels, all read, "Fire Alarm". Bottom glass panels are missing. It does have some of the gas fittings. Signed, "Boston". $1900

35 Alarm Box – This very rare Northern Electric Tooker Alarm Box has a slanted fist and tag #35 on the door. The bell and the mechanism on the inside of the door appear complete and original. The inner box is missing. The door reads, "Fire Alarm Telegraph Station, turn handle to the right, open door, pull hook". It is signed, "Manufactured by the Northern Electric & Mfg. Co. Ltd, Montreal". $1200

36 Trumpet – This 24" tall silver plated trumpet has a 4 wheel hose wagon engraved in the presentation area. The wagon is signed, "Hose 3 S.F.D.". The consignor believes the "S" stands for Saugus. It has Eagle tassel holders above the wagon. It is engraved with a fire fighting motif. The 9" diameter bell also has fire fighting motifs, and a paisley design around the bottom edge. On the back side, above the bell, there is a repair but it does not detract from the overall appeal of the trumpet. It includes a very old cord without tassels. $1350

37 Alarm Box – This weight driven Gamewell alarm box from Buffalo, N.Y. has a brass Smith key guard, a slanted fist, and a 4" x 2" brass tag #558, with a matching code wheel. A 12½" x 4½" metal plate is screwed on one side. It reads, "$50 reward for the arrest and conviction of any person sending a false alarm from this box by order of the fire com’rs". It has an unusual umbrella shaped finial. The door reads, "For fire, break the glass, open the door, pull hook down once, and let go". There are papers on the back side of the inner door with information on greater alarms, special calls, special assignments, signature codes, and signals. It is on a nice wood base. It is very clean and it appears to be in working order. $900

38 Bucket – This green leather bucket is signed, "B. Barnes No. 1". The bucket is 12½" tall, and it is 18½" tall when measured to the top of the handle. A black painted ring encircles the bucket 1½" below the rim. The handle has been reinforced, but it appears to be the original handle. $375

39 Alarm Box – Signed, "Northern Electric Company Limited" across the bottom. This alarm box has a very large key guard. 5" wide x 6Ό" tall. It does not have and never had a door tag. Above the key guard the door reads, "Northern Electric Gamewell". The sending mechanism appears complete. $850

40 Take Up Reel – This Gamewell pendulum style take up reel is 8" tall. The front and back up-rights are copper colored. Some of the color on the bottom front is coming off. It appears complete. $100

41 Pump – Rumsey Rotary Garden/Fire Pump. Usually mounted on a wheel barrow or small wagon, as pictured in Rumsey catalogs at the turn of the century. 32" high. Painted and restored in working condition. $150

42 Alarm Box – This weight driven Gamewell alarm box has a Cole key guard, a non-directional door, a slanted fist, brass tag #532, new paint and clean. The code wheel does not match. $350

43 Lantern – This brass Dietz Fire King lantern has raised letters on the front and back panels that read, "The Seagrave Co, Columbus, Ohio". It has the patent dates Mch 21, 93 and Mch 24, 91. Fire King lanterns usually bear the patent date Aug. 27, 07. It is in very good condition and it has a clear globe. $420

44 Lantern holder – This American LaFrance lantern holder, (hanging bracket), is used to hold Dietz Fire King Lanterns. It is stamped U2171, 14" tall, and nickel plated. $175

45 Police Box – This 19½"t x 13"w x 8"d police box has a 3Ό" round brass tag that reads, "City of Lowell", and it has a 2" x 3" tag with number 45. It is signed, "The Gamewell Co. New York". The inner blue sending unit is 10Ό"w x 16Ύ"t x 5"d. It has a brass arched tag with the following choices, F. Wagon, S. Wagon, ambulance, telephone, report 1, report 2, & report 3. $1000

46 Alarm Box – This Gamewell railroad emergency alarm box is known as a Latey Box, after its designer H. Latey. The door reads, "Gamewell Auxiliary Fire Alarm" and it is signed, "New York". It has a brass tag #46 and a matching code wheel. The door on the inner box has a brass plaque with 17 patents that date from 1888 to 1900. It is about the size of an Excelsor, but it is not as ornate. $775

47 Rattle – This weighted double reed wooden watchman’s alarm rattle is 10" long and 9Ό" tall. It has a hanging ring and it is in good condition. $125

48 Gong – 6" Gamewell Excelsior electro-mechanical gong in an oak case. The case is 15Ύ" tall and 9Ό" wide at the top. The brass tag above the glass reads, "The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Co. New York". The 6" brass bell protrudes through the front. An OGEE profile encircles the bell. It appears to be complete, and it is in very good condition. $1100

49 Alarm Box – Unusual because it has a solid quick action box, this Gamewell cast iron alarm box has brass tag #612. Nicely painted with yellow gold colored letters. Because of its weight, it is probably not empty, but it can not be unlocked with the standard Christmas tree key. $160

50 Pedestal – This harp style Fredrick pedestal, the type usually found in Washington D.C., has a 76" tall base, a 40" long fluted tubular column that sits on top of the base, and a 29" tall basket that sits on top of the column and holds the gas light globe. $1350

51 Boston Lot – Assorted lot of Boston Fire memorabilia including apparatus photos with photo of BFD glass negative, 1965 rules and regulations and more. $25

52 Register – This very rare Utica, N.Y. brass register is signed, "Pat’d May 29, 1888". The sides are brass, and the ends and top are beveled glass. It is mounted on a 31" long board, along with a very old take up reel that is best described as pendulum style.$600

53 Muffin Bell - 4" Muffin Bell.  $125

54 Badge – Engraved, "Conqueror 1 Weymouth F.D.". This badge is from the hand engine Era. The Conqueror 1 was originally sold to Fitchburg, Mass in 1845 by Hunneman. It was sold to Weymouth, Mass in 1872, where it remained until 1885. The badge has some scratches and the pin appears to have been replaced many years ago. Still a very nice piece. #310

56 Print – This framed and matted 1858 Currier & Ives medium folio print titled, "Rushing to the Conflict" from the American Fireman Series depicts a fireman, with the red fire reflection showing on his coat, pointing to the fire with one hand, and holding a working trumpet in the other hand. The depiction measures 13Ό" wide x 17" tall. The print is in very good condition. PASS

57 Photo – In this framed photo of 3 Bradford, Penn. Fire fighters, the chief is seated in the middle. He has a high front helmet, with a steam engine painted on the front in his right hand and a very elaborate trumpet in his left hand. The front holder on his helmet is a running fireman with a trumpet. A fire fighter is standing on each side of the chief. They are each holding a trumpet and a helmet. One helmet bears the number 2 and the other has the number 3. All are wearing double breasted overcoats with parade belts over the overcoats. The ornate frame is 27" wide x 31" tall. It is a 3 part frame. The outer frame is carved, the middle gray part is flat, and the inner gold colored part is carved. The 13½" wide x 16½" tall image is mounted on a boarder. The gray middle frame has some paint missing, and the outer carved frame has a few chips. Despite these problems, it is a very impressive photo. $230

58 Print – The Darktown Fire Brigade – "A Prize Squirt", colored print. It is signed, published by Currier & Ives, copyright 1885 by Currier & Ives N.Y., 115 Nassau St. New York. Caption reads, "Now den! shake her up once moah fur de Mug." Depicts Niagara Handtub, with 4 men pumping, 1 man holding the nozzle, and the foreman on top holding a trumpet in one hand and flowers and his helmet in the other. The frame measures 16Ύ" tall x 20½" wide and is matted. Very good condition. $180

60 Repeater – This 7 circuit Gamewell Co. Newton, Mass repeater automatically repeats the alarm from one circuit to all the other circuits. It sits on a base that is 42" high, 46" wide, and 28" deep. It has a large access door and is painted to look like mahogany. Some of the paint is missing and 1 of the marble trim pieces on the bottom is missing. The repeater is in a glass case. The glass is original but it is taped for safety. The glass case is approximately 19" high x 36" wide x 18" deep. It has 1 main weight and 7 extra weights. The brass colored mechanism is very impressive looking. PASS

61 Helmet – This yellow Cairns leather New Yorker has a black front with a white 2½" tall sewn on number 3, under which is a white cut out with black letters that read, "W.F.D.". It has Bourke flip down eye protection, and a liner with ear flaps. The consignor says it is from Worcester, Mass. $175

62. Register -  Register with 2" tape.           $40

63 Helmet – This black leather Cairn New Yorker has a black front with 3 red cut outs, with white painted letters that read, "Dracut Fire Dept". The bottom of the back brim is signed, "D.F.D. Co. 1" $140

64 Extinguisher – This Peter Pirsch apparatus soda-acid extinguisher is plated. There are rub marks on the back which appear to have been caused by the holder. The rubber hose is in poor condition; otherwise it is complete and ready to go on a Pirsch truck. $220

65 Builders Plate – This Ahren-Fox builders plate is 9Ύ" wide x 7Ύ" tall. It reads, "Model M-2, Ahrens-Fox, 831, Cincinnati, O. U.S.A., patented June 27-1916". It is plated, the letters are black, and it is mounted on an oak board. $600

66 Log Book - Log book from Eng 53 New York City.    $135

 67 Trumpet – This plated octagonal trumpet is 18" tall, and is 6Ύ" wide at the bottom of the bell. There is no hallmark, but it is probably Cairns. It has a gold colored tassel, and is circa 1880. $1000

69 Helmet – This black leather Migeod high eagle helmet from the 1870’s has a black front with 3 red cutouts. The top cutout reads, "Independence", the 2nd cutout reads, "Hose", and the bottom cutout reads, "T.N.E." There is a 25/8" tall number 3 in between the cutouts. There is a 2½" oval on the bottom of the back brim that is signed, "Migeod Co. Philadelphia". The liner is missing. $500

70 Lantern – This copper plated Dietz Fire King lantern has raised letters on the front panel that read, "American LaFrance Fire Engine Co. Inc. Elmira, N.Y." It has a red globe and bears the patent date Aug. 27, 07. It appears to be complete and it is in good condition. $400

71 Sending Mechanism – Signed Moses G. Crane Boston, this 6Ό" round Sector 4 sending mechanism is complete. $120

72 Tapper – This umbrella tapper has a 5" diameter bell with an inside striker. The bottom of the base is metal and is 10Ό" wide x 5Ύ" deep. It has screw holes at each end. The top of the base is oak. The edges on each have a quarter round design. $270

73 Helmet – This black leather high eagle helmet has been repainted but the front has not. The black front has 2 red cut outs, both of which have white leather letters. The top cut out reads, "Vigilant", and the bottom reads, "F. Co.". The liner is missing, and the back brim has a hanging rivet. $410

74 Parade Belt – This white belt has black trim. The keeper is also white with black trim. The belt has a red cut out with white leather letters that read, "President", and the keeper has a red cut out with white leather letters that read, "V.F.A.". There is a small metal plated tag that reads, "Cairns & Bro. New York". The buckle and straps on the back side of the belt are intact; a Badge is being sold with the belt. It reads, "Winnisimmett Vet Firemen, Chelsea, Mass", and it has a depiction of a side-stroke hand engine. $150

75 Extinguisher – Highly polished Badger brass pony extinguisher. Back is riveted and has no dents or scratches. $140

76 Helmet – Unusual Cairns war baby style leather helmet, with leather front that reads, "BNY (Boston Navy Yard). Helmet is complete with liner and paper tag. $110

77 Insurance Painting – This reverse painting on glass is in a dark wood frame that measures 13Ύ" tall x 27Ύ" long. The image is black with old gold colored letters that read, "New Hampshire Fire Insurance Company Manchester, N.H.". There is a 5" circle, with a drawing of the old man on the mountain inside of it and a blue sky behind the face.$150

78 Whistle Blower – This bell tower alarm activating mechanism made by Gamewell is on an iron base with grooved feet so it can be anchored to the floor. It is white with black trim and the overall measurements are 30" tall x 28" wide x 20" deep. It has a 14" long crank with a 7" long wooden handle. It has two 4" long electrical coils. $950

79 Hunneman Parts – 2 brass male Hunneman and one brass female hard suction coupling ends. Also one brass discharge cap. One set of ends is stamped Hunneman & Co. Boston and the other 2 pieces are not. $525

80 Parade Belt – This black belt has white trim. The keeper is also black with white trim. The belt has a red cut out with white leather letters that read, "Ipswich", and the keeper has a red cut out with a white leather number 3. There is a small metal plate tag that reads, "Cairns & Bro. New York". It is in very good condition and it is complete. $120

81 Shirt – Red wool bib front shirt with 2½" tall white letters that read, "Torrent". The buttons are covered with red wool fabric. There are 9 buttons on the bib, 2 on each sleeve, and 1 at the waist. The label reads, "Cairns & Bro Firemen’s Equipments New York". It is in very good to excellent condition. This shirt and the Ipswich Parade belt lot #80 are part of the same uniform. $105

82 Magazines – "NFPA Firemen" 1955 through 1969 complete, plus 23 doubles. $25

83 Siren – This Sterling hand crank siren is a type H and has the serial No. 5656. The tag is difficult to read, but it is signed, "Mfd. by the Sterling Fire Alarm Co. Inc. of Rochester, N.Y". It is in working order and comes complete with a mounting bracket. $610

84. Certificate - Firemen's benevolent Society Certificate.  $110

85 Parade Belt – This white belt has black trim. The keeper is also white with black trim. The belt has a black cut out with white leather letters that read, "Asst Foreman" and the keeper has white leather letters that read, "Hose". The buckle is in tack, but part of the inner belt is missing. Some of the white paint has fallen off with age. $50

86 Helmet – Leather helmet with a hand painted front that reads, "Captain 9 Malden". Helmet appears to have some repairs. Helmet is missing finial and maker’s tag and liner. Brim design suggests the manufacturer to be Shelton & Cheever. $80

87 Magazines – Approximately 80 issues of "WNYF". (With New York Firemen) from 1946 through 1979, plus 8 issues if "Turn Out". $40

88 Presentation Basket – Very ornate silver plated presentation basket. Measures 20" tall and engraved "Presented to Clara Turner by the Port Chester Fire Dept January 11, 1914. Basket handle is decorated with grapes and grape leaves. The body has a man and woman dancing on all four sides. Hallmark is a windmill with smoking pipe on either side with #3716 below.$450

89 Bucket – Signed, "Ephraim Wood" this once green leather bucket is 16" tall overall. The patina on the reinforced handle suggests it was done a long time ago. $280

91 Ambro Type – Contained in a papier-mβchι molded case that measures 27/8" tall x 2½" wide. The depiction is of a young fireman wearing a bib front shirt with the number 1 on it. $175

92 Mounting Board – Rectangular slate mounting board is for a register and take up reel. $210

93 Helmet – The yellow front on this black Cairns high eagle helmet reads, "101 Hospital". The front also bears a medical emblem. It has a hanging ring, and a liner that is ready to fall out. It belonged to Sgt. Frederick Karl Poehler, who served in the 101st medical regiment of the Mass National Guard 1st HQ Co. from 1930 to 1940. He went on to become a captain in the Salem, Mass. Fire dept. $325

94 Ambro Type – Contained in a papier-mβchι molded case that measures 35/8" tall x 31/8" wide. The depiction is of 2 firemen wearing red shirts and high front helmets with the number 7 on them. One side of the case is decorated with a sail boat and the other side is decorated with flowers. $175

95 Recall Light – The police recall light comes with a bracket that attaches to a utility pole, a light shade and the fixture. $90

96 Print – This very colorful framed and matted 1895 print, copyrighted by Buchanan & Lyall from the "Firemen, Past and Present" series is titled, "Let Her Go". It depicts 12 firemen pulling a New York style hand engine from its quarters. The depiction measures 23½" wide x 17Ό" tall. $800

97 Tin Type – Contained in a papier-mβchι molded case that measures 35/8" tall x 31/4" wide. The depiction is of 3 firemen in dress uniform, each of whom is holding a trumpet. The front and back of the case are each decorated with an oval containing flowers. $195

114 Alarm Box – This Gamewell alarm box was made special for Binghamton, N.Y. The door has a 3" x 3Ό" opening for a piece of glass, and it reads, "For Fire Break Glass, Pull Knob Down Once and Let Go". The mounting bracket is still attached. Tag #352. $170

115 Badge – This Chelsea, Mass badge has a high eagle helmet engraved on the top and a crossed trumpet and playpipe engraved on the bottom. It reads, "Steamer 2, Fire Dept., Chelsea". The letters are painted black, the pin is intact, it is 2½" tall, and the number 27 is stamped on the back. $330

The extinguisher and tool box on each running board look like those on a Kenton. 2 of the wheels are pitted and there is a small chip behind the pressure dome, but it is still a nice toy. $230

163 Terminal Box – This Gamewell (Newton) terminal box is empty. The overall length including the fittings is 32". It is 12 Ύ" wide and 5" deep. $90

164 Trumpet – This 17½" tall brass working trumpet is 7Ό" wide at the bottom of the bell. Its unusual red braided tassel has a 2½" flat round waffle style decoration at each end. The bottom tassel holder is an eagle, but the top tassel holder is a replacement. It is old and has seen service, the dents attest to it, but it is still a nice piece. $250

165 Toy – This 25" long Buddy "L" Pumper is signed Texaco on the bottom, but on the doors were the Texaco decals usually are it reads, "Buffalo Fire Dept 6". It is painted with gold colored letters with black and white trim. It is complete and it is in good condition. $100

166 Photo – This 1891 framed photo of Boston fireman Albert J. Caulfield is 17" tall x 14" wide. According to the information written on the back, he served in Engine Co’s #38 and #39 at 344 Congress St. $25

169 Lantern – Signed, "Pratt N.Y. Maker", this plated side lamp is 17" tall. It has a 6½" dia round clear lens and a 3Ό" dia round red lens. The clear lens has a small chip on the inside, and the red lens has a 4 sided symmetrical design. The red lens is cracked but complete. The chimney has 3 stacked circular outlets. When the speed nut latching system is released, the door flips up rather than sideways. It has an arched roof and it measures 11½" tall x 9" wide x 5" deep. Inside there are 2 coils and 2 fuses, and it appears to be intact. $90

216 Rectifiers – 2, style #761885-B Gamewell Retox Rectifiers man. by Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh Works. They are 60 cyc, .115 amps, 105-115-125 AC volts, and 30-45-60 DC volts. (11" long x 5" W x 5" T) One has a 3 prong plug with leads, but I would not recommend its use as a converter for a home system. PASS

217 Siren – Mfd. By the Sterling Siren Fire Alarm Co. Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., this 6 volt type 12 Sterling Siren with serial no. 16864 is mounted on a 15" tall red metal stand. The siren is 14" long and the bell end has an 8½" dia. $55

The top cut out has white leather letters that read, "Sheffield" and the bottom cut out has white leather letters that read, "V.F.D." There is a 2" round aluminum decal in between the 2 cut outs. It has a liner and a hanging ring. The inner tag reads, "Clinton, N.J." $50

227 Chair – Signed, "S. Bent & Brothers, Inc. Gardner, Mass". This captain’s chair came from a Buffalo, N.Y. fire house. $100

228 Helmet – Cairns New Yorker leather helmet from Boston has an officer’s Eng 55 front. The impact shell on the inside is broken. $90

229 Insurance Lot – Brass ash tray in original box 100th Anniversary of Northern Assurance Co. of London 1836 – 1936. Brass letter opener 50th Anniversary of Fireman’s Fund Insurance 1895 – 1945, assorted insurance paper work. $45

231 Transmitter – This Standard Electric Time Co. oak case school house transmitter is 13" tall x 10" wide x 8½" deep. It reads, "Break glass in case of fire". It includes a swing hammer and a wiring diagram. $80

232 Alarm Box – This Gamewell alarm box was made special for Binghamton, N.Y. The door has a 3" x 3Ό" opening for a piece of glass, and it reads, "For Fire Break Glass, Pull Knob Down Once and Let Go". The mounting bracket is still attached. Tag #521. $170

233 Nozzle – This 9Ό" long Akron brass twist nozzle has a 2½" intake, rubber guards around the discharge and pins. $85

234 Police Box – This light blue Gamewell Herculite Police Patrol Box was in service in Buffalo, N.Y. It is 16½" tall x 13" wide x 6½" deep. It bears tag #234, it comes with a key, it is clean, and the phone is intact. A short section of the rain guard is bent and cracked. $220

235 Model – Complete wooden model kit of New York style hand engine. Painted as Alert No. 3. A few pieces are broken but are there and repairable.$100

243 Statue – This 23" tall ceramic statue of an older fireman looks like it is carved from wood. His turn out coat is hanging over his right arm and he has an axe in his right hand. His left hand is at the side of his mouth and he appears to be yelling. $30
