Championship Trophies

John F. Cutter Trophy: This trophy is named in honor of long time League Secretary John F. Cutter of Newburyport MA. It is awarded annually to the organization in the League which has the highest average of any three longest streams which have been obtained in three different League musters. If there should be only three League musters in any given years, the award would be made on the average of the two longest streams. If there are only one or 2 league musters held, the longest stream will be used to award the trophy. This trophy was donated by the friends of John F. Cutter. This trophy is awarded to second class (Class B) engines and the winner will be designated League Champion until the following year.

Edward A. Brennan Sr.:The same rules governing the awarding of the John F. Cutter Trophy apply to the Edward A. Brennan Sr. Trophy, and will be awarded to the first class (Class A) engines. This trophy was donated by the East Greenwich, RI Fire Dept, of which Mr. Brennan was a member.

Points Trophies

Article 12 , Section 3 of the NESVFL bylaws calls for the following:

There shall be a point system to determine the hand engines in both class A & B that had the best order of finishing positions for the muster season. Points awarded for the order of finish for the first seven (7) positions as follows: seven (7) points for first, six (6) points for second, five (5) points for third, four (4) points for fourth, three (3) points for fifth, two (2) points for sixth, one (1) point for seventh positions.

Class A engines will be awarded a trophy to be known as the Joe Herman Trophy. Class B engines will be awarded a trophy to be known as the Charles Mastin Trophy. These trophies will be furnished by the B.F. Hoxie Engine Co. #1 of Mystic, Connecticut, the owners of the T.W. Lane hand engine.These trophies will be awarded each year at the October meeting.
