"Engines of the Past"

Reproduction Collectible Plate
(Click Here to View Full Page)

Handtub Junction, USA is proud to offer you  these wonderful reproduction Collectible plates featuring Historic Fire Companies of America. The artwork on the plate is from the original artwork that the companies used on correspondence, ball invitations and such. The images have been faithfully reproduced and applied to the ceramic plate in a 21st century process.

Our first series is the Yankee Engine Co. No. 5 of Worcester, Massachusetts.  The engine was built by the William Hunneman Company of Boston in 1859 and bore serial number 640. It was delivered to Worcester, MA  and saw service in that city till it was sold to Newport, NH in 1864. In 1894 it was sold to the Concord, New Hampshire Veteran Fireman's Association to be used in muster competition. In the early 20th century it was sold to C.E. Higgins of Concord, NH and some time after 1970 it was sold to the Old Tucson Studios a movie studio in Tucson, AZ. Unfortunately in doing some research for this piece it was discovered that the engines name was changed to Tucson when it went to Arizona and at some point in the late 20th century it was destroyed in a fire when the property burned! Giving us even more reason to honor this Engine of the Past.

The plates are available several different styles and sizes including 3 different size platters and 3 different size round plates. These plates are not intended for food service use.

These beautiful pieces come in either platter or round plate with 3 different sizes in each style to fit any space.

The back of the plate carries the history of this glorious engine.
